No one on the Scamfighter team of experts enjoys false claims, and Resume-now.com takes the cake. The company convinced me I’d get free resume templates only to demand payment for downloading or printing them.

There was no way to discover the pricing scheme until I spent an hour perfecting the template and adding relevant details. I get why one Resume Now review was so annoyed with this trick since it was pretty tempting to write off the time wasted and leave the website empty-handed.

In the end, I completed the order process and opted for the cheapest trial option available, only to request an immediate subscription cancellation after downloading the resume.

After this disaster, I’d much prefer buying a resume from traditional resume creation services that don’t try to trick me into lifelong subscriptions.

The resume you get is as good as you make it. After all, it’s up to you to choose the template, add relevant experience and education, and pick the color scheme. The automatic resume builder offers helpful suggestions and provides ready-made templates for achievements and skills, but they sound as stilted and awkward as you’d expect. Overall, I’d agree with Resume-now.com reviews praising the resume builder tool. It is pretty smooth and intuitive, if a bit drawn-out, thanks to useless interim screens and prompts.

On the other hand, I don’t think Resume-now.com templates are worth even $2 they got from me. It took a while but I found a few similar templates online for free. After all, even Google Docs and Microsoft Office come with basic resume templates you can adjust to fit the job. And there’s Canva if you want to make your resume look extra special.

I also tried using the cover letter builder, expecting it to be as great as advertised, but it was a letdown, too. The letter I got was AI-generated with vague and weird phrasing, such as ”I motivated cross-functional teams to work collaboratively towards common objectives.” I could have gotten the same phrase from ChatGPT or Gemini for free.

 Customer Support

I’ve seen lots of reviews praising the Resume Now customer service, so I expected to be wowed when I fired up live chat to complain about false advertising. First, I ran into a chatbot that tried to identify which department I needed to contact. Next came a human agent who explained that there were no false claims.

After all, I could download a “plain text” version of the resume in .TXT format to use on job boards. Clider failed to recognize that I’d already have this version on my laptop and use it copy relevant information into the template.
After that, the support agent tried to convince me to try the resume writing services and explained the pricing. Overall, it was an informative chat, if a bit pushy. I also got annoyed when Clider kept checking if I was still present in live chat even though I had to wait for their responses.

As far as I can tell, the customer support service isn’t 24/7. Hotlines and live chat have office hours, though you can send a request via email anytime and wait for a response within 24 hours.

 Types of Services

Judging by the Resume Now reviews I read, most use the service to build resumes or CVs, but I’ve also seen a few mentions of generated cover letters. That’s the extent of Resume-now.com services, though you can also access stock templates and examples to get a better idea of what your job application should look like.  Extra Features

Resume Now does not offer any additional CV writing services beyond building resumes, CVs, and cover letters. At best, you can gain free tips on writing job applications and access sample library to help you complete your papers.

 Guarantees and Safety

Since Resume Now doesn’t promise anything, there are no guarantees to uphold. Still, most Resume Now reviews ignore a couple of glaring issues. For example, the Terms of Service specify that the company has non-exclusive rights to your resume. It can then alter and distribute your papers without your knowledge. That’s a disconcerting idea, especially if they fail to conceal your contact information.

While working on this Resume Now review, I noticed another trick the service uses to lure in users. When trying to convince you to sign up, Resume Now claims that “Our customers have been hired by Amazon, Walmart, Target,” and other companies. But if you look closely, those companies have previously employed Resume Now customers. That’s not the same thing. Such misleading marketing claims werea huge red flag for me.

 Revision and Money Back Policy

Revisions are a staple of the resume writing industry, but not on Resume Now. Since you’re responsible for your application, if you want a revision, you’ll have to do it yourself. The service will merely suggest improvements, though not all are relevant.
Considering the subscription cancellation issues I learned about, I was most interested in the Resume Now refund options. The Terms of Service promise refunds if you cancel the subscription before the end of the trial period. If you try to get reimbursed for the resume writing services after the trial ends, you won’t get a refund.

 Mobile Application

I searched for a mobile app while working on this Resume-now.com review but found no mention of it on the website, in the App Store, or on Google Play. And I don’t recommend using this platform on screens smaller than an iPad. The resume and CV builders are pretty ungainly, and I had to zoom in and out constantly, while some features were completely missing because of faulty layout on mobile.
